How can you help fix our broken immigration system?
- Keep up with immigration news so you will know what is being said, and who is saying it.
- Vote. The people saying positive things need to stay and the people saying negative things need to go.
- Show up at local protests and show the nation that this issue matters to lots of people.
- Talk with your friends and invite them to do the same. We cannot do this alone.
Be a positive part of our nation’s history
Saw your meme on US Border Wall V.S Iron Curtain. The Iron Curtain was used to keep people in. The Border Wall down by Mexico is used to keep people out. There isn’t a border wall south of Mexico. No comparison to the Iron Curtain!
All walls keep people inside and keep people out. Just because Mexico doesn’t have a wall does not make the argument that a wall built on the entire Mexico/American border is different than the Iron Curtain, which did the exact same thing. Built with differing purposes, perhaps, but ending in the same result. Were people freely allowed to enter East Germany? No. A wall built along the entire southern border with Mexico will also keep people who would normally go back home after seasonal work in the country forever. Not the purpose for which the wall is being sold to the US public, but the same effect will happen. Freedom is what we are supposed to be all about in America, and makes this project completely un-American. There are other ways to fix our broken immigration system. Separating families should not be one of them.
